For the Curious
Regenerative Life Long Learning and Innovation Hub
Our Learners Have an
Abundance of Superpowers
When we nurture each child’s whole being, we support them to navigate the world through the gifts they came here to share.
Together, with our collective, our kids are co-creating the local and planetary regeneration capable of bringing us back into alignment with nature, whilst using tech that supports them to innovate in alignment with natural cycles and stay connected with cutting edge developments from all over the world.

“There is no such thing as a neutral education process. Education either functions as an instrument which is used to facilitate the integration of generations into the logic of the present system and bring about conformity, or it becomes the 'practice of freedom', the means by which humans deal critically with reality and discover how to participate in the transformation of their world.”
Richard Shaull,

The Nautiluz Education Hub

"The answer is not to standardize education, but to personalize and customize it to the needs of each child and community.
There is no alternative. There never was."

Sir Ken Robinson, International Adviser on Education
Mission
Our Nautiluz mission is to support the creation of curious, intergenerational learners embedded in a community that fosters planetary regeneration, social cohesion and individual autonomy. We seek to contribute to a future where our learners become self-actualized, critical-thinking, conscientious, creative citizens of the earth, keen and empowered to shape the world around them in harmony with the greater whole.
Core Values
Regeneration
Planetary
We believe in creating an impulse to bring into balance that which is out of balance. Doing this on many levels when interacting with the climate, the environment, our society, the economy, in our local communities, even with the self, is key to working in deep relationship with the Planet and all its cycles.
Social Cohesion
Society
We believe in disrupting social inequality, exclusion and the increasing segregation and impoverishment of local and regional communities. Our goal is to identify, understand and work with what both separates and connects us, so that we can use what we learn to celebrate our diversity and facilitate the co-creation of today’s societal glue. Facilitating a healthy environment where everyone can live safely and thrive, unites us all.
Autonomy
Individual
We believe in recognizing & honoring, enabling, building & restoring a healthy sense of self.
We facilitate the co-creation of the individual as it relates to the I, the you, the us & the them, allowing for awareness and connection to flow from within to the outer world and vice versa.
Diversity & Anti-Discrimination Principles
Nautiluz strives to be a safe community for all learners, their families, and its cooperative members regardless of race and skin color, national origin and ancestry, religion, disabilities, gender (including gender identity and expression), and sexual orientation. We understand that creating a diverse and accepting community also means working to educate ourselves and one another, address bias, and apply critical analysis to our curriculum and materials. Members of our community will learn how, and work to use inclusive language, challenge discrimination and stereotypes, and advocate for positive change. Our goal is to create a community of learners of all ages who feel safe to express themselves, explore the world around them, and develop and grow.

"Education in the true sense is helping the individual to be mature and free, to flower greatly in love and goodness. That is what we should be interested in, and not in shaping the child according to some idealistic pattern."

The Perfect Spot
Our Learning & Innovation Hub is set on the scenic Algarvian hills, perfectly nestled in the centre of the triangle, Lagos, Aljezur and Vila do Bispo, not far from the A22 highway exit in Bensafrim.
Just down a short track from the main road, you will find 3 hills and 3 valleys mainly covered in long untouched forest of Cork Oak, Medronho, Eucalyptus and Acacia trees, and that is where we are co-creating and nurturing a little-big paradise for a future society and learning with our Nautiluz Hub Collective. Creating in this fertile land we aim to work regeneratively with the fauna and flora, and to build our Hub facilities in the most integral way possible, honouring the place where we learn and thrive.
